BERET
ch 4, join with a sl st to form a ring.
Rnd1: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 10 dc’s in ring, join with a sl st in top of beg ch-3 – 11 dc.
Rnd2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 hdc), hdc in same st, 2 hdc’s in each dc around, join with sl st in top of beg of ch-3 – 22 hdc’s.
Rnd3: Rep Rnd 2, dc instead of hdc in this round – 44dc’s
at the end of this round, i will stop the counting since it will be more confusing. just follow your st. it’s okay to make mistakes, you can always correct them.
Rnd4: Ch 3 *FPDC on the next dc, dc on the next st, skip 1 dc, rep from *, join with sl st in top of beg og ch-3
Rnd5: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) dc on the same st, *FPDC on next dc, dc on the next 2 st, rep from *, join with a sl st in top of beg of ch-3.
Rnd6: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) dc on the same st, dc on the next st, * FPDC on the next dc, dc on the same st, dc on the next 2 st, rep from *, join with sl st in top of beg of ch-3 – (3 dc’s between FPDC)
Rnd7: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) dc on the same st, dc on the next 2 st, *FPDC on the next dc,  dc on the same st, dc on the next 3 st, rep from *, join with a sl st in top of beg  ch-3 – (4dc’s between FPDC)
Rnd8: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) dc on the same st, dc on the next 3 st, *FPDC on the next dc,  dc on the same st, dc on the next 4 st, rep from *, join with a sl st in top of beg ch-3 – (5dc’s between FPDC)
Rnd9: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) dc on the same st, dc on the next 4 st, *FPDC on the next dc,  dc on the same st, dc on the next 5 st, rep from *, join with a sl st in top of beg ch-3 – (6dc’s between FPDC)
Rnd10: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) dc on the same st, dc on the next 5 st, *FPDC on the next dc,  dc on the same st, dc on the next 6 st, rep from *, join with a sl st in top of beg ch-3 – (7dc’s between FPDC)
Rnd11: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) dc on the same st, dc on the next 6 st, *FPDC on the next dc,  dc on the same st, dc on the next 7 st, rep from *, join with a sl st in top of beg ch-3 – (8dc’s between FPDC)
Piece should measure approximately 11″ across.
Rnd12: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) skip 1 space
the skipping of spaces in this round is intended for the beret to curl up.
*FPDC, dc on the same st, skip 1 space, dc on the next next space, rep from *, join with a sl st in top beg ch-3.
don’t mind the pattern. just skip one space after a dc and just keep in mind that 1 FPDC is between a dc
TIP: FPDC in line with the previous FPDC of the previous round.
Rnd 13, 14, 15: Rep procedure in rnd12 until there’s only 2 dc in between 2 FPDC.
Rnd 16, 17, 18, 19: Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc) sc around each st, join with a sl st in beg of ch 1. Fasten off.
